CERN Director-General Fabiola Gianotti visited St. Petersburg and gave a lecture

On September 6, in St. Petersburg, an open lecture was held by CERN Director-General Fabiola Gianotti,  and the INNO-MIR company was one of its organizers. The visit of Fabiola Gianotti took place at the 27th European School of High Energy Physics (ESHEP2019) (September 04-17, 2019) in St. Petersburg. These Schools are held alternately in one of the participating countries of the two largest international scientific organizations: the European Center for Nuclear Research (CERN, Geneva) and the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR, Dubna). The CERN director’s meeting with the general public continued with questions and round-table discussions on the role of fundamental science in the development of modern society.

The meeting was attended by JINR Director V. A. Matveev, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, V. A. Rubakov, Deputy Secretary-General and Head of the Nuclear Physics Section of the Physical Sciences Division, RAS Academician, G. V. Trubnikov, First Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education, Vice-Rector for Research, St. Petersburg State University Professor S. V. Mikushev, students of the School, researchers and students of higher educational institutions of St. Petersburg, high school students.
