For the second year, INNO-MIR took part in the organization of the Russian Genetic Resources Forum
The second scientific Forum "Genetic Resources of Russia" was held on June 26-28, 2023 in St. Petersburg under the auspices of the Vavilov Society of Geneticists and Breeders (VOGiS). The plenary sessions of the Forum were held on June 28, 2023 in the great hall of the St. Petersburg Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The event gathered 369 participants from 23 regions of Russia, as well as Kazakhstan and Belarus.
The Forum brought together eight conferences designed to highlight modern areas of work with collections of genetic resources and their application in basic science, medicine and agriculture. As part of one of them, the II All-Russian School-conference "Conservation and multiplication of genetic resources of microorganisms", a round table "What does business want to get from science?" was held.
7 large enterprises took part in the round table: SIBBIOPHARM, BIONOVATIC, BIOCAD, Excel Research and Development, Fermentra, Helicon Company, GEROPHARM.
The participants of the discussion were:
- Igor Anatolyevich Tikhonovich, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Dean of the Faculty of Biology of St. Petersburg State University, Scientific director of the FGBNU VNIISKHM
- Anton Aleksandrovich Nizhnikov, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Chairman of the Scientific Commission in the field of biological sciences and Bioecology of St. Petersburg State University
- Angela Mikhailovna Asaturova, PhD, Director of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution "Federal Scientific Center for Biological Plant Protection"
Anastasia Sergeevna Yarmosh, Vice Rector for Strategic Development and Partnership of St. Petersburg State University, led the Round Table.
The result of the round table was the emergence of strengthening ties between business and science in the field of applied research of microorganisms using modern methods of genetics, microbiology, molecular biology and biotechnology and bioresource collections.
