Only 7 years have passed since a High Tech City Innopolis appeared on the map of our country. What's today?
There are more than 3,800 people in Innopolis every day. 367 companies have been registered, of which 126 are residents and partners of the the Innopolis Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
More than 88 thousand square meters of real estate have been leased. The entire basic infrastructure has been launched: 22 residential buildings, kindergarten, school, IT lyceum, medical and sports centers, post offices and banks, 3 supermarkets, pizzeria, cafe, bar, car wash, pharmacies, book and flower shops, hobby center and other service companies.
Innopolis has become the first city in Europe where you can use Yandex.Taxi drones for everyday trips. And Innopolis was the first in the world to receive the FDI World Award for testing drones.
Innopolis University in Tatarstan is among six Russian universities and research centers that will become reference points for the development of artificial intelligence technology and will receive grants of up to 1 billion rubles. The total amount of funds, taking into account extra-budgetary financing, will amount to 7 billion rubles.
In October 2021, Innopolis University received a federal grant of 900 million rubles for the creation of a research center on artificial intelligence.
Answering the question about the future, the mayor of Innopolis Ruslan Shagaleev noted that it is important for the city to get "a globally recognized name that will be proved by big projects." On the way to this goal, the greatest hopes are pinned on the university, where "conditions are being created in which Russian specialists will increasingly accept a job offer within the country and work for its economy."
